10 Successful Odia Women who have made proud ODISHA

Nandita Das: As an actress she is known for her roles in Fire, Earth, Bawander. Her debut feature film as a director was Firaaq which won several national and international awards. She was honoured with Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Government in 2008.

Sona Mohapatra: Sona is an accomplished Bollywood singer who is known for her fusion of contemporary and ancient music. Her hits include Ambersariya, Jiya Na Lage. Her performances in SatyamevaJayate made her quite popular among the masses.

Archita Sahu: Well known as a model and popular actress in Ollywood, Archita was 1st runner-up in Pond’s Femina Miss India Kolkata 2013, won Lakme Absolute Femina Miss Eyeconic eyes and also won Miss Stylish Hair title in the finale.

Anu Choudhury: She is an Odia actress and has starred in over 50 films, her debut movie being Maa Gojabayani for which she was highly appreciated. She has also acted in many Bengali movies, and made her debut in bollywood in the movie Nirvana 13. She is a social activist too.

Sulagna Panigrahi: Sulagna is an Indian TV and film actress, She played the lead role in the television serial Amber Dhara as Dhara, and went on to play the principal character in Do Saheliyaan. She further did a grey role as Sakshi Rajvansh in Bidaai. She got her bollywood break in Bhatt banner Murder 2.

Shradhanjali Samantray: She is an international football player and ex-captain of women Indian football team and represented India in a lot of International tournaments. She is the second Odia sportsperson after Dillip Tirkey to lead national side.

Sushree Shreya Mishra: Shreya is a model and was among the top 7 contestants of Femina Miss India 2015. She had won Asian Super Model-2010, Miss Friendship International 2010 and Asia Model Festival Award 2011.

Padmini Rout: She is an international chess player, holds the Woman Grandmaster title and was the winner of World Under-14 girls’ championship, 2008. She has also won five Asian and four national titles.

Ipsita Pati: Ipsita reached in the finale of Miss Universe India 2010. She had also won Miss South India 2008 and Miss Intercontinental India 2011 titles.


Dutee Chand: She is national champion in 100m event in sprinting. She had performed well in many national and international events.
