Mahima Gadi-Magha Mela-Joranda, Dhenkanal, Odisha

MAGHA MELA
at
Joranda, Dhenkanal, Odisha - MAHIMA GADI
The period when people become indifferent to "Parambrahma", when people understood idol worship is the best way to get liberation, what religion is and people began to forget the essential and fundamental principles of true religion, Maha Mahima Maya Pravu Mahima Swami made his own revelation and enlightened as a full manifestation of PARAMBRAHMA to this visible world and re-established the eternal true religion (Dharma) for the welfare of mankind hence called Mahima Dharma.
Mahima Dharma represents the original Sanatan Dharma because it belief that Brahma alone is the cause of the creation, preservation and destruction. And the Mahima cult believes in a casteless society, recognition of one God, i.e., Parambrahma without a second, abandonment of external rituals or worship of Idol, thinking always of the good of mankind and constantly surrenders him in body, mind and speech. The one and only Absolute pure lord Param Brahma is the originator, creator and savior of the Animal kingdom, He is ultimately known as Mahima Swami.
Worship of one god (Brahma) by all irrespective of class, caste and creed brings a great revolution in society, but it develops inner consciousness among all believers of Brahma. This is in only the culture of Mahima Dharma. Mahima Dharma believe in whole world is one family i.e. ‘‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’’.
Mahima Dharma believes in Alekha Prabhu to bless the entire universe for peace & happiness. So Mahima Swami says through saint poet, Bhima Bhoi that –

Boundless is the anguish & misery of the living who can see it and tolerate;
Let my soul be condemned to hell but let the Universe be redeemed.
(Pranika aarata dukha apramita dekhu dekhu keba saehu;
 Moo jivan pachhe narke padithau jagat uddhar haeu. )

In Mahima Gadi, there is a Dhuni Mandir where always continuing Oblation/Dhup using log of dried sandalwood, Bael tree, Neem tree or Peepal tree offering ghee as ignition by which nature would be purify and it may brings rain to fertile barren land and this Dhup will in bringing peace back to the earth.
Mahima Swami- preacher, profounder of the Mahima cult, had taken eternal blissful samadhi and left for Mahasunya, Mahanityapura on Monday 10th lunar day of Falguna at 5:22 P.M. in 1876 A.D. at Joranda (Dhenkanal district of Odisha), the place noted as Dev Bhumi of Odisha or Guru Mahima Gadi.
Sanyasis as well as Pilgrims get together from various part of country in Joranda on full- moon day of Magha which falls in February of every year, to give obligation or to worship in the holy shrine of Mahima Swami where he had taken last breath (samadhi).  All Sanyasi of Mahima Dharma and devotee also reached there to celebrate this glorifying festival.
